SRINAGAR: Although the Union Territory administration of Ladakh got a special team of experts from the Central government to prepare a plan to arrest the growing infection curve of coronavirus, official figures released on Wednesday show that curve is yet to flatten there.

According to the data released by administration on Wednesday, one more person died due to Covid-19 infection taking the total number of deaths by this infection to 122. Total number of cases shown by the official data has risen to 8,969.

According to the directorate of health services, Ladakh, Leh still has more cases of Covid-19 than Kargil district. The deaths have touched 79 in Leh while only 43 people have died due to coronavirus in the Kargil area.

The Directorate said on Wednesday to the media that 49 people tested positive for coronavirus in Leh while 24 others in Kargil. After the recent LAHDC, Leh elections, there was a sudden rise in the Covid-19 infection cases in many parts of Leh.

The administration, especially doctors, have been on the forefront to flatten the curve. They have isolated hundreds of patients and most of them are showing signs of recovery.
