SHIMLA: In Himachal Pradesh, the cases of Covid-19 have started decreasing rapidly, the positivity rate is reduced to 0.8%. According to the health department survey of Himachal Pradesh, 65% pollution has received the first dose so far, while 22% have received the second dose of Covid vaccine, in the state. At present only 840 Covid positive cases are in Himachal Pradesh, this is the lowest in the country.

State government has stated sero survey to check the immunity against Covid contamination; it has been found that more than 60% people have developed immediately to fight against Covid-19.

According to the health department data, herd immunity will be considered after getting more than 60%, and the state is trying to get more people vaccinated in the days to come.

Amitabh Awasthi, Health Secretary, Government of Himachal Pradesh, said that the state government is providing protection shield to all the people by getting the Covid vaccine immunised.

Awasthi said that over 48 lakh people of Himachal Pradesh have been vaccinated against Covid, out of which 35 lakh people have received the first dose and 13 lakh people have received the second dose of vaccine to date.

In view of the possibility of a third wave, the vaccination campaign has been speeded up in Himachal Pradesh. He said that it is a proud moment for their state that it is running at number one in the country in vaccination. Awasthi added, “We have managed so very well that we have zero wastage of Covid vaccine which is also a record, in itself. For the Covid immunisation campaign and flawless management, the state has been recognised by the Government of India.”

In view of the danger being told to young children, the administration has started mobilising the necessary health equipment, ventilator beds, and other necessary equipment for this in hospitals.

Awasthi said that people in the age group of 0 to 18 years are currently being told in danger because they have not yet got the protective cover of vaccines. The government is making full preparations for any such situation and it is expected that all these arrangements will be completed by the end of August. Himachal has vaccinated 1 lakh 75 thousand people in a day and a continuous vaccination campaign is going on in the state, but how much depends on the supply of vaccine doses from the Centre.
