Court directs to keep gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in Tihar jail

The Patiala House Court in Delhi ordered on Monday that Lawrence Bishnoi be kept in Tihar Jail and brought before it tomorrow.

He was scheduled to appear in court in an NIA case. He was being transported from Bathinda Jail in Punjab. The court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Dharmesh Sharma has been informed that Punjab Police and other agencies are on their way to Delhi and will be unable to arrive within the Court hours.

The court then ordered that he be taken to jail and brought before the court the next morning.

The court has also directed the jail authorities to ensure Lawrence Bishnoi’s safety and security because he is a high-risk accused. On April 11, the court issued a production warrant for Lawrence Bishnoi in a case registered by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under sections related to Waging war against the State, conspiracy to wage war against the State, Unlawful Activities Prevention Act sections 17, 18, 18 B, and 38.
