Arbind Kumar Choudhary is a poet in a thousand who has been called not only the founding father of Indianised version of Arbindonean Sonnets and The Phrasal Movement in Indian English poetry but also the healer between Indian, Greek and Roman mythology from alpha and omega of his verses? His racy style of verification, lyrical luminosity , cultural culmination, rhymed quatrains, painterly painting and, above all, the uses of various figures of speech make him second to none in the history of contemporary Indian English poetry . His more than six dozen published interviews, selection of suitable words, proverbial passages, sensational approach and more than half a dozen critical anthologies published on his poetry collections that make him a towering personality justify his supreme sacrifice rendered for the sake of Indian English poetry. He has been made Universal Ambassador of Peace from Poetry by Gabriel Simond of Zeneva while a number of his verse suitors have awarded him with the crown of The founding father of Indianised version of Arbindonean Sonnets in Indian English Poetry. His two poetry collections entitled—Majuli: The Vatican City of Assam and Mother India– have been incorporated for the Graduate and Post Graduate courses in English at Sivasagar University, Assam.

Here lies a conversation with a professor by profession but a poet by passion :

S.S: How does the poetry change the society?
AKC: Poetry is the infantry of a man of artistry that shows not only the mirror to the strife- stricken society but also guide the courses of the human beings with the passage of time. It is not only an emotional outburst but also an ointment for the wounded mind and ailing heart . Our poetic doctrines have been started to guide the races without interruptions . The essence of the verses sends its suitors in the seventh heaven and arouses sensations for the spiritual whirlwind all around the corner .

S.S: How do you feel when a poem is finished ?
AKC: Completion of the poem is just like a halt of the continuation of my poetic journey. When one is over, another comes in and many others remain in the fray? In fact completion symbolizes just like the night between the two days of nature.
S.S: Throw light on your forthcoming poetry book.

AKC: Veer Lachit Borphukan:
The Forgotten Champion, who has given a befitting reply to the Mughals three hundred years ago is my forthcoming poetry collection in which the indomitable will of this Ahom General becomes fatal for the Mugalia Sultan of Hindustan?
Three more manuscripts are ready to see the light in the days to come.

S.S: What is the worst thing about the poetry?
AKC: Poetry is the eternal source of inspiration for the spiritual whirlwind here, there and everywhere. The epical writing has become out of market for want of readers, publishers and the writers. It is the shameful act for the existing race that needs its revival for the sake of morality and humanity with the passage of time. Another worst thing about Indian poets is the lack of confidence in them who always hanker after recognition and publication outside India ? If one is published outside India, he or she becomes champion in a night in India.
This is the worst example of the slave mentality of Indian poets that requires enlightenment

S.S: What is the purpose of poetry?
AKC: Poetry is the voice of the soul rather than mind that tries its best to enlighten the races with the passage of time .The epics of all religions have become the eternal sources of spiritual sensation for the existing races and the races next to come . Poetry is the eternal source of spiritual sensation for one and all. However one must be aware of the pulp literature ?

S.S: Do you view writing as a kind of spiritual practice?
AKC: Writing is the eternal source of spiritual whirlwind wind for Tom, Dick, and Harry here, there and everywhere . The conducive atmosphere of the early morning whenever the poetry takes its birth in its perfect form creates spiritual surrounding around me. As a matter of fact verification becomes my sweet heart early in the morning that sends in the seventh heaven for intense pleasure. I do agree with you that writing is no doubt the wing of the spiritual practice.

S.S: What are the general themes one can find in your poetry?
AKC: Natural disorder, rape with natural objects, humiliation, discrimination, religious dogmas, social hypocrisy, racial misconception, brutality with mute but cute animals and superstition are the part and parcel of my writing that haunt my mind time and again.

S.S: What does success mean to you ? What is the definition of success?
AKC: Success is really a comprehensive word that has been used temporarily for the popular writers. The success of one generation varies from another generation due to variation in temperament, requirement and upliftment. The credits of the Pre- Romantics who were treated strange and peculiar by the contemporary creative society were made established poets later by the next generation poets .

S.S:What is the most effective poetic device of the verses?
AKC: The Imagery and the uses of the examples of the various figures of speech that dominate the great works of the renowned writers in general and the epical works in particular have become the most powerful and effective poetic devices to make it the immortal work for ever.
Unfortunately majority of the contemporary poets lack these poetic doctrines for want of the proficiency over this subject.
