CONTRADICTORY STATEMENTS RAISE QUESTIONS ABOUT PUNJAB GOVERNMENT

On 29 May, after the gruesome murder of Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu alias Sidhu Moosewala, Punjab DGP Viresh Kumar Bhawra did a press conference and stated it was a case of gang war. And on Thursday, in Punjab High Court Advocate General Anmol Rattan Sidhu stated that in the case of Lawrence Bishnoi’s security petition, there is no mention of his name in the case of Moosewala murder. So there is no point in providing him security. After hearing the arguments the court rejected Bishnoi’s plea.

These two self-contradictory statements of the Punjab government created a stir amongst netizens. There is a line of messages emerging on social media that the Punjab government has no clue about what is happening in the state.

On 29 May night, DGP Punjab stated after the murder of Moosewala, “It is a gang war, Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gangsters are behind this murder. Rest police are investigating the case.”

On 2nd June before the Punjab and Haryana High Court, on the petition of Bishnoi security, the Punjab government stated that there is no mention of Bishnoi’s name in the case of Moosewala murder, so there is no point in providing him security. After hearing the arguments the court rejected Bishnoi’s plea.

The Daily Guardian Review spoke to Gajendra Shekhawat, Union Leader of BJP on this and he stated that the Punjab government has no clue what is happening in their state. There is total chaos in the law and order situation in Punjab. Their hypocrisy would make them fall flat on their face.DIFFERENT TONES
