Congress will once again take to the streets across the country on Friday to protest against the Central government over inflation. The party has announced a gherao of the Prime Minister’s residence as well as a march to Rashtrapati Bhavan. Members of the committee working committee, MPs, MLAs, all the office bearers up to the block level, all the advance organizations along with the workers will take to the streets to protest against rising prices of commodities. Congress will target the Centre on the Agnipath scheme and unemployment along with inflation.

Congress general secretary KC Venugopal has written a letter to the state units, saying that the state units will lay siege to the Raj Bhavan. The strategy of the party is to build pressure on the government across the country on the issue of inflation.

In a letter to the states, Venugopal said, “Inflation has reached a record level in the country. State units should make extensive preparations for the demonstration from the state to the district headquarters with full force.”

The Congress has started preparations for a large-scale demonstration in Delhi. In view of this, elaborate arrangements are being made by the police. Speculation is rife that even before proceeding towards the Prime Minister’s residence, the Congress workers will make a brief halt at the party headquarters and then will march till Rashtrapati Bhavan to submit the memorandum.
