Telangana CM’s daughter and MLC Kalvakunta Kavitha on Friday said that the Congress was not a national party to compete with BJP and thus it would be invited to the anti-BJP conclave scheduled for next month.

CM KCR is holding a conclave in Hyderabad probably in the second week of December 2020.

Kavitha touted that there has been a good response to TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s decision to convene a meeting of non-BJP parties. She held an informal chit chat with some reporters at her residence.

Kavitha said the main focus of the TRS would be on anti-farmer, anti-labour policies of the BJP government. She said “Congress is no more a national party… It is no more a rallying point. It failed the nation. Congress is dying its natural death and reduced to the status of a regional party. There is no pan-Indian presence of the party.”

She strongly objected to the disinvestment policies of the Union government. She questioned what was the need for selling Air India, LIC, Railways, Coal India.

On the TRS supporting GST, Triple Talaq and other bills, Kavitha said that the party extended support to the Central government based on the issue and it has never supported the BJP. The TRS has also opposed several bills like farmer’s bills recently

Kavitha said that the TRS would win the GHMC elections comfortably as the party’s strength had increased manifold over the last six years.
