The state unit of Congress stepped up 40 percent Sarkara campaign by plastering `PayCM’ posters along with a QR code across Bengaluru city on Wednesday morning in the middle of the ongoing assembly session.
Posters with the title “Pay-CM” with the picture of Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai also feature a QR code that will take the user to the ‘40% commission Sarkara’ website that was launched by Congress recently for complaints.
The posters are designed to highlight how 40 percent commission rate that is being alleged by the party calling it a norm under the current BJP regime.
Reacting to the poster campaign, Bommai told reporters here in Bengaluru that such an unsubstantiated and baseless campaign is in bad taste. “I have instructed officials to take appropriate and legal action.
These campaigns against me will do nothing less than bring disrepute to Karnataka,’’ he told media persons shortly after paying a courtesy call to former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda who is recovering from leg-related ailments.
This is not the first time that a smear campaign is unleashed against Bommai. Recently, in the TRS-ruled Telanagana, a huge poster portraying CM peddling 40 pc commission government was put up inviting wrath from the chief minister.
