CHANDIGARH: The Broda by-elections are yet to be announced but all political parties in the state have started mulling over a string of strategies to emerge a winner. Congress has a maximum number of claimants including Jitender Hooda, son of late legislator Krishan Hooda, Pardeep Sangwan, son of former MP from Sonipat, Kishan Singh Sangwan, Induraj Narwal, Mohit Malik and Colonel Rohit Mor.

While there are two strong claimants in the BJP including Yogeshwar Dutt and Kapoor Narwal, the party is reported to be mulling over the selection of a suitable candidate. The JJP continues to face quite a different situation as it has been left with less choice in terms of candidates. One thing is evident from the present political scenario of the state that either the BJP or the JJP would field the candidate in the election as both are running the government in an alliance. Undoubtedly, the caste factor is also going to play a key role in the by-elections.
