I am hopeful that things will change after Rohit Sharma takes over as captain in white ball cricket. Rohit will now have to focus on communication, especially with the senior players. At this point of time, Rohit can raise the level of his captaincy and he will get this opportunity in the next few series.
There is no doubt that Virat’s stature is higher than Rohit. He has played more matches than him. Rohit now has to tell Virat how valuable your suggestions are to him in the interest of the team. I think now things like mutual differences should be left behind because it will not benefit anyone. At the same time, the biggest challenge for Rohit will be to maintain his fitness for all three formats. Anyway, if the captain gets injured in any ICC tournament, it has a bad effect on the team.
At least till 2023, Rohit should continue as the captain. Also their workload should be taken care of. The bilateral series can be taken as a preparation for the ICC tournament.
