As Coldplay fans scramble to obtain tickets for the Grammy-winning band’s performance in Mumbai, a viral post has proposed a lavish trip to Abu Dhabi for the concert.

Balram Vishwakarma, who operates the popular Instagram meme page @andheriwestshitposting, shared a screenshot of the Coldplay ticket booking page, criticizing “black marketers” for reselling tickets at inflated prices. He suggested that instead of spending lakhs on the Mumbai concert, fans could opt for a round-trip to the Middle East to watch the band perform on January 11 at a relatively lower cost.

In his post, Vishwakarma emphasized that for Rs. 180,000, individuals could cover visa fees, flights to Abu Dhabi, accommodation in a decent hotel for two nights, enjoy gourmet meals, purchase Coldplay tickets, and still have Rs. 10,000 remaining. He shared a screenshot showing that two tickets for the Mumbai show on January 18 were listed for as high as Rs. 3,84,000.

Detailed Trip Breakdown

Vishwakarma provided a comprehensive breakdown of the estimated costs for the entire trip, including food, travel, hotels, and sightseeing:

Total: Approximately Rs. 170,000.

Vishwakarma also warned those attempting to resell tickets in the comment section, stating that he would consider them scalpers and block their accounts.

Complaints About High Ticket Prices

The post has received over 18,000 likes, with users expressing frustration over the high ticket prices. One user noted, “Wait till you find the lounge tickets are sold for 9 lakhs each.” Another commented, “I don’t know how, but the cost was different every time you logged in; it showed 48k to me and to my partner 60k. Insane and shameful.”

Coldplay is set to perform as part of its Music of the Spheres world tour during three shows in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21 next year. This will be their first performance since 2016, after a long nine-year hiatus.
