On Wednesday, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated the Kali Puja celebrations in Agartala, the state capital. He also announced a 5% Dearness Allowance (DA) increase for government employees and retirees as a Diwali gift. Speaking with reporters, CM Saha said, “The government employees work the whole year. We have announced a 5 per cent Dearness Allowance to government employees and retired employees. This is a Diwali gift.”

Festivities Include Dance and Felicitations

A lively dance performance by a women’s group set a festive mood for the event. Additionally, CM Saha honored several individuals, recognizing their contributions to the community.

CM Saha Joins Diwali Celebrations with TSR Personnel

CM Saha then visited the 2nd Battalion TSR Camp in Binan Kobra Para, Mandwai, to celebrate Diwali with the battalion members. He interacted with the personnel and expressed gratitude for their dedicated service. While there, he learned about TSR’s initiatives and equipment, later calling his experience “truly special” on X (formerly Twitter). He stressed the government’s commitment to supporting the security forces that maintain peace in Tripura.
