Ahead of the Assembly elections in Telangana, the state’s Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR, marked the conclusion of a three-day-long sacred Rajshyamala Yaga at his Erravalli Farmhouse in Siddipet district. The Yaga, which began on November 1, would reach its culmination on Friday, symbolising a significant and spiritual aspect of Rao’s election campaign.
Rajshyamala Yaga is a sacred ritual believed to bestow blessings upon kings and the common populace, and Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief of the BRS party, has turned to this practice once again, as he did during the previous elections. In 2015, Chandrasekhar Rao performed the Chandika Yaga for the development of Telangana, and in 2018, Rajshyamala Yaga was conducted before the elections, leading his TRS party to a resounding victory.
Chandrasekhar Rao’s farmhouse in Erravalli hosted the three-day-long Rajshyamala Yaga, with Visakha Sharada Peethadhipati Swarupanandendra and Swatmanandendra leading the ceremonial rites. The Yaga was attended by numerous prelates and priests from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka states. Alongside the Rajshyamala Yaga, a Shatchandi Yaga was also performed.
The Yaga began with the arrival of 200 priests on Tuesday evening, and over the following days, Vedic recitations and homa rituals took centre stage. The Yaga’s conclusion on Friday was marked by a grand ceremony, including the Poornahuti ritual, which brought the sacred event to a close.
Chandika Yaga, which aims at the welfare of the world, was also conducted concurrently with Rajshyamala Yaga. Various rituals and ceremonies were performed, including Guru Puja, Devata Pratra, Maha Sankalpa, Ganapati Puja, Swasti Punyahavachana, and more. The Chief Minister and his spouse, CM Chandrasekhar Rao, presided over many of these sacred rituals.
Swaroopanandendra Shri, who spoke about the Yaga, said that this ceremony is for the all-round development of Telangana state. He noted that Rajshyamala Yaga is a powerful practice, and Chandrasekhar Rao’s dedication to it is a testament to his commitment to making Telangana a greener and more prosperous state.
He also remarked on the positive impact of previous Yagas on Hyderabad, which has transformed into a thriving metropolis. The Yaga’s conclusion, alongside the ongoing electoral activities, underscores the multifaceted approach that Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao is employing to lead Telangana into the future. The final outcome of these efforts remains to be seen, but the Yaga undoubtedly adds a unique dimension ahead of the Assembly elections voting day in the state on November 30.
