Small gestures can make a huge difference in building relationships. They show care and thoughtfulness, helping to strengthen bonds and make others feel appreciated. In an effort to connect with his soon-to-be stepson, one man decided to gift the boy three watches from his favorite brand, hoping to create a special connection. He shared the gesture on Reddit, hoping the boy would appreciate it—and he did.
“Got these for my soon-to-be stepson who is in class 8,” the man, known as “NorvinShadow” on Reddit, wrote. He explained that the boy, a fan of Timex watches, attends karate classes and enjoys UFC. The photo attached to his post showed three Timex watches, two of which were from a UFC collaboration.

The post quickly attracted many comments from Reddit users, with one person joking that the man might be spoiling the boy by gifting him three watches. The man admitted that this was his first time as a father and that he was a bit overenthusiastic about the new relationship he was building.
“Shoutout to you for being a father,” one person praised. Another commented, “It takes a special man to be a dad, and you are that special man.” Some even requested an update on how the boy reacted to the gift. “He’s going to like you for sure. Update his reaction if you can,” a fourth commenter said.

In a follow-up post, “NorvinShadow” shared the boy’s heartfelt response. “He absolutely loved the gesture and the watches, and I couldn’t be happier that I went for it,” he said, sharing a screenshot of their WhatsApp conversation.
The boy’s message read: “Thank you for the watches. You didn’t need to get me them. I feel very happy. Thank you so much for the watches and taking care of Amma [Mom].”
“NorvinShadow” replied, “You don’t have to thank me man. Both of you are important parts of my life.”
He concluded, “I’m really glad you liked it.”
Such a wholesome and touching moment, indeed.
