The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has suspended the approval of International Aircraft Sales Private Limited effective immediately, citing significant safety concerns. The action follows a crash involving a Cessna 152 aircraft, VT-BBB, operated by Belagavi Aviation and Sport Enterprises, Guna, on August 11. The aircraft crash-landed during a test flight due to engine failure.

The Cessna 152 had recently undergone maintenance, including an engine overhaul, at International Aircraft Sales Pvt Ltd’s DGCA-approved facility in Bhopal. Following the incident, the DGCA conducted a special audit of the company’s operations. The audit uncovered serious lapses in maintenance standards, leading to the suspension.

This move by the DGCA comes in the wake of similar actions taken last year, when it suspended the operations of Red Bird Flight Training Academy Pvt Ltd after a series of incidents. The academy’s operations were only restored after a complete recertification of their maintenance facilities.
