In a shocking case from China, a married man has been caught maintaining relationships with four women living in the same housing complex, including one residing in the same building as his wife. For over four years, none of the women were aware of each other’s existence, sparking disbelief on Chinese social media.
A Web of Deceit
The man, known by the pseudonym Xiaojun, is from Jilin province in northeastern China. Raised by a mother who worked as a bathhouse attendant and a father who held part-time construction jobs, Xiaojun’s modest background seemed at odds with the life of luxury he portrayed. In his attempt to elevate his status, Xiaojun claimed to be the heir to a wealthy family with successful businesses, deceiving his wife, Xiaojia, into marrying him. He even bought counterfeit luxury items online to convince her of his affluence.
However, Xiaojia soon uncovered his financial struggles and, rather than divorcing him, chose to raise their child alone, eventually kicking him out. Homeless, Xiaojun moved in with Xiaohong, a woman he had met online, borrowing 140,000 yuan from her under false pretenses.
The Game Of Deception
Xiaojun didn’t stop there. He continued his relationships with three other women: university students Xiaomin and Xiaoxin, and nurse Xiaolan. From these women, he borrowed smaller sums of money, maintaining his fabricated wealthy lifestyle. The truth came to light when Xiaoxin grew suspicious after discovering fake cash in a bag that Xiaojun had claimed held a large sum of money.
Xiaoxin reported her suspicions to the police, leading to the exposure of Xiaojun’s elaborate con. Authorities arrested him, revealing the extent of his deceit to all the women involved.
