Over 90 Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf activists were arrested in protest of Imran Khan’s detention.

Over 90 Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters were arrested for protesting the imprisonment of their party’s leader, Imran Khan, in multiple areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to Dawn.

Protests erupted when former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was detained on August 5 after a district and sessions court in the federal capital found him guilty of corruption in the Toshakhana case.
Police arrested over 70 PTI workers and local leaders in Swabi after charging them with batons during a protest gathering at Karnal Sher Khan Chowk.

Former MPs Rangaiz Khan and Aqibullah Khan, the brother of former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser, spearheaded the protest. . However, when cops used force, both of them escaped.

Mohammad Sohail Yousafzai, district president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and eight other prominent leaders were detained earlier on Monday while attempting to plan a rally against Imran Khan’s detention.

Section 144 was implemented for a period of three months in the district, and offenders will be detained, according to officials.
