Shooting at New Mexico Motorcycle Rally Leaves Three Dead, Multiple Injured According to Red River Mayor Linda Calhoun, a shooting occurred at a motorcycle rally in the Red River area of New Mexico on Saturday, resulting in three fatalities and several injuries, as reported by the media.

Mayor Calhoun stated that five individuals were injured, with one airlifted to a Denver hospital, as confirmed by the New Mexico State Police. Initial reports from the police mentioned two deaths and six injuries.

All individuals involved in the shooting, identified as members of biker gangs, are now in police custody, according to Mayor Calhoun. The New Mexico State Police assured that the scene is secure and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The incident took place during the Red River Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally, an annual event that attracts tens of thousands of participants to the town’s Main Street for Memorial Day weekend, according to media reports.

Other injured individuals were transported to Holy Cross Hospital in Taos and the University of New Mexico Health in Albuquerque for treatment. Mayor Calhoun emphasized the swift response of law enforcement, with the first officer arriving within 30 seconds of receiving the call.

The New Mexico State Police has dispatched additional officers to Red River. The investigation is ongoing, and an active crime scene has been established, leading local authorities to request the closure of businesses on Sunday until the investigation is concluded and the crime scene is cleared. Following the shooting, Taos, located approximately 40 miles from Red River, implemented a curfew until May 28 at 4 a.m., prohibiting the sale of alcohol in retail stores, bars, and other establishments, as per the proclamation issued by Mayor Pascualito Maestas.
