According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), both nations reviewed the actions taken after the meeting between the Foreign Secretary and the Chinese Vice Foreign Minister in January 2025. They explored specific steps to stabilize and rebuild ties, with a focus on promoting people-to-people exchanges.

The two sides discussed plans to resume direct flights, encourage media and think tank interactions, and celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and China. They also agreed to continue facilitating cross-border cooperation and exchanges, including trans-border rivers and the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra.
High-Level Engagements and Progress
Since the meeting between the leaders of India and China in October 2024, bilateral relations have witnessed positive developments. The Foreign Ministers met twice, while the Special Representatives on the India-China boundary question held their 23rd meeting, providing strategic direction for improved relations.
Border Affairs and Security Review
On March 25, the 33rd meeting of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC) was held in Beijing. Officials from both nations reviewed the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and agreed on the early resumption of cross-border cooperation.

During the meeting, the two sides explored measures to implement decisions taken in December 2024 during the Special Representatives’ meeting. They agreed to strengthen diplomatic and military mechanisms to maintain stability along the border.
