A tragic incident has emerged from the live streaming community in China, where 24-year-old Pan Xiaoting died during a live broadcast due to complications from overeating. Autopsy reports revealed her abdomen was severely deformed and her stomach was filled with undigested food.

Pan Xiaoting, who had transitioned from a waitress to a live streamer, participated in extreme eating challenges that contributed to her untimely death. Reports indicate that she had been eating continuously for more than 10 hours daily, consuming over 10 kilograms of food per meal and experimenting with various unusual dishes.

Xiaoting had previously been hospitalized for gastrointestinal bleeding caused by overeating. Tragically, she resumed binge eating for her broadcasts the day after being discharged from the hospital, according to Hankyung.com.

Pan Xiaoting’s foray into live streaming began after witnessing her friend, Liu Qi, earn money through similar means. Initially, she had few viewers, but over time, she attracted a significant audience. Her broadcasts, where she consumed large quantities of food and interacted with viewers, eventually garnered enough attention and gifts from her audience to generate a modest income.

As her popularity grew, Xiaoting escalated her eating challenges, pushing the limits of her stomach by consuming extreme amounts of food and trying items her body couldn’t handle. This pursuit of online fame and financial gain ultimately led to her demise.

Xiaoting’s death has sparked widespread concern about the health risks associated with extreme eating challenges broadcasted online. Many have voiced their opinions on the need for greater awareness and caution regarding such activities, emphasizing the potential dangers of consuming unhealthy amounts of food for entertainment purposes.
