Special camps organised on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s to address the pendency of mutations are proving to be a boon for the people of the state, with thousands of mutations processed in a single day, said Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa here today.

He was present to inspect the special camp organised at the District Administrative Complex, Mohali. The minister mentioned that the outcome of the last camp, held on January 06, was remarkable, with 31,500 mutation cases processed in a single day. He expressed optimism that the report to be submitted in the evening would also be positive.
Jimpa stated that he has been regularly visiting tehsils and sub-tehsils, interacting with the people to gather feedback on the initiative.

He highlighted that the initiative, launched by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, aims to provide relief to the people so that they don’t have to face hassles in government offices. He commended the district administration for addressing cases related to family divisions of land along with mutations.

The minister emphasised Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan’s commitment to the people, mentioning ongoing efforts to simplify the registration and mutation processes. He instructed officials to resolve property disputes through mutual discussions and proposed setting up special revenue courts as part of the National Lok Adalat to address revenue department-related cases.

Jimpa assured that in the future, strict measures would be taken to ensure mutation entries in the revenue records within the stipulated 45-day period. He acknowledged the government’s efforts, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan, in recruiting new Patwaris to fill long-vacant positions in the revenue department.

During the camp review, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh stated that these special camps aim to deliver revenue department services smoothly, settling pending mutation cases. About 150 pending mutations were registered in the January 6 camp in Mohali, according to Kulwant Singh.

He praised Revenue Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa’s leadership in delivering revenue department services efficiently and urged the public to maximize the benefits of the government’s efforts.
