Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Ashok Leyland’s electric vehicle factory in Lucknow, emphasizing the importance of accelerating production from the facility to meet the demand in Uttar Pradesh and North India.

“I urge them (the company’s management) to commence production at the earliest, not just hand over the keys. The markets of not only Uttar Pradesh, but the entire North India, eagerly await your vehicles,” Chief Minister Yogi said.

During the event, representatives from the Hinduja Group presented Chief Minister Yogi with a symbolic key to a double-decker electric bus and a memento. He also inspected the electric buses within the facility and familiarized himself with their features, receiving detailed explanations from Hinduja Group officials.

Chief Minister Yogi praised the establishment of Uttar Pradesh’s first electric vehicle plant through Ashoka Leyland, applauding the Hinduja Group and Ashoka Leyland for their initiative. He highlighted the state’s investor-friendly policies and emphasized the need for investments to be public-friendly as well.

Pointing out Uttar Pradesh’s extensive network of villages and ‘majras,’ Chief Minister Yogi envisioned electric buses as an affordable and accessible means of connecting rural areas with cities. He encouraged collaboration between the Hinduja Group and the state government, emphasizing the potential to engage youth and enhance public transportation services.

Highlighting the state government’s Electric Vehicle Policy and the launch of investment projects worth Rs 10.24 lakh crore by the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Yogi expressed confidence in the market of Uttar Pradesh for electric vehicles. He emphasized the importance of the company’s rapid progress in their work.
