The General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, former Union Minister and member of the Congress Working Committee, Kumari Selja said that the BJP-JJP Alliance Government in the state, which has achieved mastery in hiding its scams, has committed a big scam in the name of property survey.
The survey company was treated with so much favouritism that instead of cancelling the tender immediately upon noticing its errors, double the amount was paid. People are still troubled by the mistakes in their property IDs and now a fee of one thousand rupees has been set to correct each error. In a statement released to the media, Kumari Selja said that the tender for property surveys in cities was given to a private company in Jaipur by the coalition government. According to the work order, the estimated cost of the work was 18.11 crore rupees, but the company was paid 57.55 crore rupees. This company was responsible for surveying property in 80 cities. According to the former Union Minister, the urban local body department was so kind to this company that there was a provision to cancel the contract, impose a fine and stop payment if there were more than 20 per cent errors in the survey, but the department showed a soft stand towards the company. The state government should explain under whose pressure this payment was made. Finally, why was the state treasury looted in this way by any company? Kumari Selja said that this company left millions of mistakes in the survey, and the people living in the cities are suffering the consequences. To correct errors in their property entries, people have to pay bribes to municipalities, city councils, and municipal corporations. In such a situation, instead of collecting from Yashi Company, the state government is issuing a new order. Kumari Selja said that the provision of charging a fee of one thousand rupees to correct errors in the name of improving errors by the state government will be a double blow to people. Now they will have to pay both the government fee and bear the cost of Yashi Company. In this way, the state government should take action against those officers who caused damage to the state treasury by showing favour to the company instead of taking action on mistakes. Kumari Selja said that due to the BJP government’s oppressive policies and misrule, the minds of the people of the country and the state have been set on change, and in the future, the BJP government will definitely have to pay the price for this.
