TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday reaffirmed his support to the BJP-led NDA and said that he “firmly” stands with the saffron party for the formation of new government at the Centre.

In a press conference, Naidu said, “Today, I am heading to Delhi. After the completion of the election, this is my first press meet before going to Delhi. I am very glad for the support of the voters. Ups and downs are common in politics. Many political leaders and parties have been ousted in history. This is a historic election. Even voters from abroad have returned to their hometowns to exercise their votes.”

“Many sleepless nights were spent in getting here. Our party workers have been through a lot in their bid to get the TDP here. We spent these last five years struggling to protect democracy, we’ve succeeded today,” he further added.

“The mandate is clear, our manifesto was clear. Today we reap the benefits of our work in the past five years. I thank Pawan Kalyan for joining us in this bid to protect democracy, the BJP and Janasena joined this alliance as equals. It was to save democracy,” said TDP supremo.

The alliance between TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena Party in the state secured a landslide victory in the Andhra Pradesh elections, capturing 164 out of the total 175 seats. Additionally, TDP emerged victorious in 16 Lok Sabha constituencies.

Shortly after the NDA surpassed the majority threshold of 272 seats out of 543 in the assembly, Naidu extended congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the “success in the Lok Sabha polls and in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.” TDP, Janasena, and BJP are constituents of the NDA in the southern state, which took on the YSRCP led by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“On behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh, I congratulate you on the NDA’s victory in the Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. Our people of Andhra Pradesh have blessed us with a remarkable mandate,” said Naidu in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

He posted this message on social media platform in reply to a message posted by Modi, thanking the people of Andhra Pradesh for giving NDA an ‘exceptional mandate’.

Further, Naidu observed the mandate is a reflection of the trust reposed on the NDA and its vision for the state.

“Together with our people, we shall rebuild Andhra Pradesh and restore its glory,” he added.
