On Tuesday night, the brutal murder of Kriti Kumari, a 24-year-old from Bihar, was captured on CCTV at her paying guest (PG) accommodation in Bengaluru’s Koramangala. The footage, released by the police, shows a man who has yet to be identified slipping into the building and committing the heinous crime.

The disturbing video reveals the man knocking on Kumari’s door, which she apparently opened, allowing him entry. Within seconds, the man is seen dragging Kumari into the corridor and pinning her against a wall. Armed with a knife, he launches a savage attack, stabbing Kumari repeatedly in the neck despite her attempts to fend him off. The assailant then flees the scene.

As Kumari lies on the floor, bloodied and gravely injured, other residents of the PG facility rush out. One woman is seen making a call, presumably to alert the authorities.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand assured that the investigation is underway with three teams working on the case. “We are moving swiftly, and we are confident that the perpetrator will be apprehended soon,” Dayanand stated.

This harrowing incident has sparked significant concern about the safety of women living in paying guest facilities in urban areas, highlighting the urgent need for improved security measures.
