NEW DELHI: The CBI has received inputs that Vinay Mishra, one of the accused in the cattle smuggling case, has renounced his Indian citizenship. According to CBI sources, Vinay Mishra has taken the citizenship of the island nation of Vanuatu in the heart of the Pacific Ocean. At present, he is hiding in this island nation in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, sources said.

For a long time now, the Central Investigation Team has been alleging the involvement of businessman Vinay Mishra in cattle smuggling and coal smuggling cases. CBI detectives have claimed that he is the main panda of this smuggling ring.

Vinay Mishra said that he can’t return to India. However, if he wants to cooperate in the investigation, he can appear through virtual hearings. At the same time, the documents submitted by him show that he surrendered his passport to the Indian Embassy in Dubai on December 22, 2020. There he stated that he no longer wanted to be an Indian citizen.

In other words, Vinay Mishra had been on dual citizenship since 2016. With this information coming up, the question arises as to why this information has not come to the notice of the CBI so far? How Vinay Mishra practically escaped with the tip of the CBI’s nose?

Earlier, industrialist Vijay Malia, accused in various financial fraud cases fled to another country. Similarly, Vinay Mishra, accused of the coal scam, has also followed that path. Now it remains to be seen what action the CBI will take on his extradition.
