The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will celebrate its Raising Day on April 1st, featuring the esteemed presence of Chief Justice of India, D Y Chandrachud, who is slated to deliver the 20th D P Kohli Memorial Lecture at Bharat Mandapam.

With the theme ‘Adopting Technology to Advance Criminal Justice’ this year’s lecture is set to explore the crucial role of technology in influencing the domain of criminal justice. The event carries significant importance as it pays tribute to the memory of the CBI’s founding Director, the late Dharamnath Prasad Kohli, while also highlighting the agency’s dedication to innovation and excellence in law enforcement.

Apart from the keynote address, the event will feature the presentation of President’s Police Medals (PPM) for Distinguished Service and Police Medals (PM) for Meritorious Service to deserving CBI officers. This recognizes their exceptional contributions to the field of law enforcement.

Founded in 1963, the CBI has transformed into a leading investigative and prosecuting agency, handling cases spanning from corruption to serious crimes and facilitating international cooperation as the National Central Bureau for INTERPOL in India.

The D.P. Kohli Memorial Lecture series, launched in 2000, has emerged as a forum for distinguished speakers to impart insights and experiences, enriching discussions on law enforcement, criminal justice, and investigation. It stands as a tribute to D. P. Kohli’s visionary leadership and underscores the agency’s steadfast dedication to integrity, accountability, and excellence.

As the nation marks the CBI’s journey spanning over six decades, the 20th D.P. Kohli Memorial Lecture serves as a testament to the agency’s enduring legacy and its unwavering commitment to pursuing justice amidst ever-changing challenges.
