Google Fires 100 Employees Across Cloud Unit

In a bid to cut jobs, Alphabet-owned Google has fired around 100 employees from various teams in its cloud unit department on Monday.

Some of the roles cut by Google were sales, operations and engineering, consulting, and “go to market’ strategist.

This report comes around the time after the California-based company tech giant had earlier fired an unspecified number of employees across different teams in April, in a bid to cut costs.

In January, Google announced fresh job cuts in the tech and media industry, as the company was dealing with economic uncertainty.

However, when asked about mass-layoffs, the company stated, ‘We continue to evolve our business to meet our customers’ priorities and the significant opportunity ahead’

In addition, the alphabet owned company also added, they maintain their commitment in those areas, that ensures their long-term success.
