A Brooklyn blaze that killed a loving mother and her two daughters left bereaved loved ones searching for answers on Saturday. As per the statement given by authorities, the deceased were identified as 48-year-old Danielle Havens, and her two daughters; 11-year-old Journee Miles and 9-year-old Kelsee Miles.

Authorities discovered the trio inside a third-floor apartment on Gates Avenue near Tompkins Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, where a fire broke out in the family’s kitchen shortly after 5 a.m. Friday.

The heartbroken father Kwan Joseph Miles told the reporters that “I need some time. I’m going through a lot.” Meanwhile, Danielle’s sister, Dawn Havens echoed that “I can’t talk to you right now,” after the reporters asked her questions.

Despite the heroic efforts of the FDNY, which said the deadly fire was an accident, the beloved mother and daughters had no chance.

As per a tweet by the FDNY Fire Marshals department the fire was “accidental due to cooking carelessness. A smoke alarm was not present.”

Havens moved into the Bed-Stuy home with her daughters less than a year ago, according to a next-door neighbor, but the family had many happy times.

The sidewalk was littered with hopscotch games. Mom and daughters had fun posing for pictures. According to one neighbor, only the family dog survived the fire.
