Over two days at Jio World Convention Centre, the plantation resort met agents, tour operators and destination partners from Mumbai, a key source market for South India travel and led with the story of India’s coffee country.

The Silver Sky Hotels & Resorts, a nature resort set on a 10-acre working coffee and pepper plantation near Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, took part as an exhibitor at Mélange 2026, the B2B travel trade exhibition curated by MTF Events. The show was held on 26 and 27 September at Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex.

Built around the theme “Powering Partnerships,” Mélange brings travel agents, tour operators, destination management companies and hospitality brands together for two days of trade meetings. For The Silver Sky, it offered something no campaign can: time at the table with the Mumbai and western India trade, the people who decide where their clients spend a long weekend, a family holiday or a group getaway.

A destination first, then a resort

The Silver Sky stand opened with the place rather than the property. A full-height panel introduced Chikkamagaluru as the Queen of the Western Ghats coffee country, mountain air, elevated escapes and set out, plainly, why a traveller makes the journey. It was in these hills that coffee was first grown in India. The district spans 7,201 square kilometres of the Western Ghats. Mullayanagiri, at 6,316 feet, is the highest peak in Karnataka. And the UNESCO-inscribed Hoysala temples of Belur and Halebidu lie a short drive away.

Only then did the conversation turn to the resort. On a tablet showcase and in printed collateral, visitors were taken through the estate itself: Coffee Cottages, Silver Ignots and Serenity Suites set among coffee, pepper and silver trees; dining at The Silver Spoon and The Silver Peg; The Smudge spa; the pool and gym; and a complimentary guided trail through the plantation’s own coffee.

“Most travellers in Mumbai know Coorg and Ooty. Far fewer know that India’s coffee story began in Chikkamagaluru, or that you can wake up inside a working plantation ten minutes from town. Mélange put us across the table from the people who plan those journeys, and let us tell that story ourselves.”

What The Silver Sky brought to the table

For the trade, the resort’s offer is a simple one. It sits on its own plantation, yet only ten minutes from Chikkamagaluru town close enough for easy sightseeing, removed enough to feel like an estate. Its room categories, including a Group Room for families and larger parties, allow agents to place couples, families and groups under one roof. Two event spaces, The Spruce and The Sunset, open the door to corporate offsites, celebrations and intimate weddings in the hills.

Mélange also placed The Silver Sky alongside the wider South India travel ecosystem, from destination management companies to fellow hospitality brands the partnerships that turn a single booking into a well-planned itinerary through Karnataka.
