Bollywood Link of Nikhil Nanda
Nikhil Nanda was born to Delhi-based businessman Rajan Nanda in 1974. Nikhil’s mother, Ritu Nanda, was the daughter of the illustrious Raj Kapoor, and sister of actors Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, and Rajiv Kapoor. This makes Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Aadar Jain, and Armaan Jain Nikhil’s first cousins.
In 1997, Nikhil married Shweta Bachchan, daughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, inducting the Bachchan family too into the fold. Abhishek Bachchan is his brother-in-law. His son, Agastya, debuted as an actor with The Archies in 2023. His daughter, Navya Naveli, is an entrepreneur.
Business Career of Nikhil Nanda
In 1997, after finishing his education in the US, Nikhil entered the family business. This was the period when his family business – Escorts Group – was struggling with competition and experiencing declining returns from the market. Nikhil assisted his father in rejuvenating the family business. Nikhil first worked as Director and was later elevated to the post of Joint Managing Director in 2007, and then took the charge of the company after his death in 2013. This has been the period when the businessman has diversified Escorts into a multinational company.
In 2021, Escorts Limited joined hands with Kubota Corporation. In the following year, the company was rechristened as Escorts Kubota Limited with Nihkil as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). According to various sources, as of April 2025, Escorts’ market cap stands at more than $4.1 billion (approximately ₹36,000 crore). The firm generated an annual revenue of $1.1 billion (₹9200 crore) in FY 2024.
