Bollywood stars Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot on June 23 in a heartfelt celebration of their love. The couple’s wedding began with a civil ceremony at home, followed by a lively reception at Bastian, attended by close friends and members of the film industry. They recently shared a charming video filled with candid moments, capturing the joy and essence of their special day.
In a joint post accompanying the video, Sonakshi and Zaheer reflected on the memorable day: “Family, friends, love, friendship, laughter, silly comments, kids running around, happy tears, excitement, bloopers, screeches, fun, joy, anticipation, nerves, emotions, and above all just pure happiness—this was our chaotic little Shaadi ka ghar… and it was PERFECT… it was US.
The video features Sonakshi’s friends serenading her with “Sona Kitna Sona Hai” from the movie Hero No 1, humorously substituting ‘hero’ with ‘jiju,’ which prompts Sonakshi to laugh heartily as Zaheer signs their marriage certificate. In a playful moment, Siddharth Sinha prompts everyone to say “khamosh” in unison, referencing Shatrughan Sinha’s iconic dialogue, bringing a smile to his face.
Friends of the couple also lightheartedly teased them about their nuptials, cheering as they exchanged vows. After signing the marriage documents, Sonakshi was so overjoyed that she screamed and hugged Zaheer, eliciting laughter from everyone present. The video also captures Sonakshi tearing up with happiness during the vow exchange.
Sonakshi and Zaheer, who had been dating for seven years, chose to get married on the anniversary of the day they fell in love. Sharing their love story, the couple wrote, “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017), in each other’s eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife.” They concluded with, “Here’s to love, hope, and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever.”
