Watch: Kalki 2898 AD New Trailer Out: Amitabh Bachchan Battles Prabhas To Protect Deepika Padukone

Nag Ashwin’s much-anticipated sci-fi spectacle, “Kalki 2898 AD”, is set to dazzle audiences as it gears up for release on June 27. With anticipation mounting, the film’s team has dropped a captivating new trailer that delves deeper into the film’s universe, introducing fresh characters alongside the core cast.

The latest trailer confirms earlier speculations, revealing that Deepika Padukone’s character carries Kalki within her. In a poignant scene, Amitabh Bachchan’s character speaks of the divine presence within her womb, setting the stage for a narrative charged with cosmic implications. Meanwhile, Prabhas appears in an imposing new robotic suit, poised to confront formidable challenges in pursuit of his mission.

Recently, the team gathered for a grand pre-release event in Mumbai, adding to the excitement. Hosted by Rana Daggubati, the event saw Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan grace the occasion. Deepika charmed in an elegant black dress, injecting humor by attributing her character’s pregnancy to Prabhas’s food offerings. Amitabh Bachchan also honored producer Aswini Dutt, underscoring the film’s collaborative spirit.

Director Nag Ashwin provided further insights into the world of “Kalki 2898 AD” through a special video showcased at the event. The film envisions a divided future where the river Ganga has dried up, leaving people in struggle. The narrative unfolds across three distinct realms: Kasi, a dreamlike city; Complex, a metropolis of vast resources; and Shambala, a mystical sanctuary for rebels challenging the status quo.

“Kalki 2898 AD” marks Nag Ashwin’s third directorial venture following “Yevade Subramanyam” and the critically acclaimed “Mahanati”. Prabhas headlines the cast as Bhairava, a fearless bounty hunter, with Keerthy Suresh voicing Bujji, his AI droid companion. Amitabh Bachchan portrays Aswatthama, dedicated to safeguarding the Kalki avatar embodied by Deepika’s character, Sumati (SUM-80). Kamal Haasan takes on the role of the formidable antagonist, Supreme Yaskin.

As excitement builds for its theatrical debut, “Kalki 2898 AD” promises a thrilling cinematic experience blending cutting-edge visuals with an immersive narrative. Fans eagerly await to witness the epic saga unfold on the big screen, heralding a new era in Indian science fiction cinema.
