Shatrughan Sinha’s Reaction To Zaheer Iqbal Asking For Sonakshi’s Hand

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha and actor Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot on June 23 in a private ceremony at her Mumbai residence. The civil wedding, attended by close family and friends, was followed by a grand reception at the popular restaurant, Bastian. In a recent interview with ETimes, the newlyweds opened up about their wedding experience and the reactions of their family members.

Zaheer’s Nerve-Wracking Chat with Shatrughan Sinha

Zaheer Iqbal revealed his anxiety about asking Sonakshi’s father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, for her hand in marriage. “I went over to their house, and I was nervous because until that moment, I had never had a one-on-one chat with him,” Zaheer said. However, his nerves quickly settled once the conversation began. “We started discussing a million things and became like friends. I also told him that I wanted to marry Sonakshi. Despite his intimidating image, he is genuine, chilled out, and the sweetest person I’ve met in a long time.”

Sonakshi’s Relief at Her Father’s Support

Sonakshi Sinha shared her own apprehensions about informing her father of her relationship. “I was very nervous and tried to play it cool,” she said. “I asked him, ‘Aren’t you worried about my marriage because you haven’t asked me anything about it?’ He replied that he had asked my mom to talk to me about it.” When Sonakshi finally mentioned Zaheer, her father’s response was unexpectedly relaxed. “He said, ‘You guys are grown-ups; if the groom and bride are ready, what will the judge do?’ I realized how chilled out and supportive my dad is about our relationship.”

Brothers’ Absence at the Wedding

There were rumors that Sonakshi’s brothers, Luv and Kussh Sinha, missed her wedding. Kussh recently dismissed these claims, confirming his attendance and highlighting the sensitivity of the occasion for their family. “Just because I wasn’t seen doesn’t mean I didn’t attend,” he clarified. Luv Sinha, on the other hand, hinted at his reasons for not attending. Referencing an article by Telegraph India, he emphasized, “Family always comes first for me,” and implied that running an online campaign against him wouldn’t change his priorities.

Despite the nerves and rumors, Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding was a joyous event filled with love and support from their families. The couple’s candid revelations in their interview reflect the warmth and acceptance they received from their loved ones, making their special day all the more memorable.
