Shaan To Perform At Paris Olympics 2024: A Family Connection To The Games

The Paris Olympics 2024 are about to begin, and renowned Indian singer Shaan will kick off the event for the Indian contingent with a heartfelt performance at the inaugural India House in Paris.

Honored to Perform for the Indian Contingent

It’s a great honor and privilege for me to be there at the inauguration of India House and perform for the entire Indian contingent. I also want to encourage all the Indians present in Paris to cheer for our athletes,” Shaan shares. India House at the Paris Olympics is a concept by Nita Ambani’s Reliance Foundation, giving Shaan the opportunity to deliver a 90-minute performance with his band.

A Special Connection to the Olympics

Shaan feels fortunate to perform a song originally recorded for “Chandu Champion” but not used in the film. “I will be performing it for the first time, dedicating it to the Indian delegates. The song is composed by Pritam da and written by Kausar Munir, and it perfectly suits the occasion,” he explains. Shaan will also perform a medley of sports and patriotic songs, including high-energy hits like “Deewangi Deewangi” (Om Shanti Om), “Dus Bahane” (Dus), and “Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe” (Dil Chahta Hai).

The Role of Music in Sports

Shaan reveals his special connection to sports, especially the Olympics. His cousins Rahul and Dola Banerjee, who represented India in archery, will be present as coaches. “Sports and music have a lot in common. Many athletes tell me that music helps them get in the zone and relax. Music and sports go together, playing a big role in motivation and encouragement,” he notes. Shaan also emphasizes his commitment to fitness, jokingly adding that he is one of the fittest singers and a good fit for the Olympics.

Excitement for the First Olympic Experience

For the first time, Shaan will experience the Olympics in person. “I will get to see some of the events live. This year should be significant for the Indian contingent. We aim to make special memories and achieve a higher medal tally than ever before,” he predicts.
