Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, who recently made headlines for offering a film role to Maha Kumbh’s viral sensation Monalisa, was arrested in Delhi on Monday. He faces rape charges for allegedly assaulting a woman multiple times under the pretense of making her a film star.
How the Victim Met Mishra
According to reports, the victim met Mishra in 2020 through TikTok and Instagram. At that time, she was living in Jhansi. They stayed in touch and spoke multiple times. However, their interactions soon took a dark turn.
Threats and First Assault
On June 17, 2021, Mishra called the victim, claiming he was at Jhansi railway station. When she refused to meet him, he allegedly threatened to commit suicide. Fearing his threats, she agreed to meet him the next day. On June 18, he took her to a resort, drugged her, and raped her.
Blackmail and Repeated Assaults
In her complaint, the victim stated that Mishra recorded obscene videos during the assault. He then used these videos to threaten her, warning that he would leak them if she resisted. Over time, he continued meeting her, repeatedly sexually assaulting her. He lured her with false promises of marriage and film roles, manipulating her into silence.
Legal Action and Investigation
Following the complaint, Delhi police arrested Mishra and launched an investigation. Authorities are gathering evidence and verifying the victim’s statements. More details are expected to emerge as the case unfolds.
