Salman Khan Threat Case: Accused Remanded To Mumbai Crime Branch Custody Until June 20

A Mumbai court has extended the custody of Banwarilal Laturlal Gujar, accused of threatening actor Salman Khan, to the Mumbai Crime Branch until June 20. The arrest follows allegations that Gujar, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, discussed plans to harm Khan on a YouTube channel.

Gujar, aged 25, was apprehended from Borda village in Rajasthan and subsequently brought to Mumbai for interrogation. The Mumbai Crime Branch cited Gujar’s statements made on the YouTube channel “Are Chhodo Yar,” where he allegedly disclosed the gang’s intentions to target Salman Khan.

The case, registered at Mumbai’s South Cyber Police Station under IPC sections 506(2), 504, 34, and IT Act section 66(d), underscores the seriousness with which Mumbai Police are treating the threats against the Bollywood actor. Following the incident, a team was dispatched to Rajasthan for investigation, leading to Gujar’s arrest.

Earlier in June, Mumbai Crime Branch had recorded statements from Salman Khan and his brother Arbaaz Khan regarding a firing incident outside Salman’s Bandra residence in April. Salman Khan detailed the events of that night, expressing gratitude to Mumbai Police for their diligent investigation.

The shooting incident on April 14 outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra resulted in multiple arrests linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In response, Mumbai Police invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against those involved.

The ongoing investigation into Gujar’s alleged threats against Salman Khan highlights the complex nature of Mumbai’s efforts to address organized crime activities and protect public figures in the city.
