Bollywood icon Salman Khan has finally broken his silence on the death threats he had received from the Bishnoi gang, who had asked for Rs 5 crore last year to end the rivalry with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The gang had reportedly threatened Salman with something worse than what happened to former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was killed in October.
Salman Addresses Security Concerns
Opening up on the threats, Salman said, “Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi hai. Kabhi kabhi itne logon ko saath mein leke chalna padta hai, bas wohi problem ho jaati hai.”
The actor has been under heavy security since the threats emerged, with authorities going out of the way to make sure his safety is guaranteed.
Blackbuck Poaching Case: A 26-Year Legal Battle
Salman Khan was found guilty in the blackbuck poaching case of 1998 while shooting Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Rajasthan. His fellow actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, and Neelam Kothari were acquitted but Salman was arrested, convicted, and bailed several times during the past 26 years.
Salman defended himself in a 2009 interview, saying he had just attempted to assist an injured blackbuck. “I think this is where it has come from. One day after pack-up, we were driving by—Saif, Tabu, Neelam, Amrita, Sonali—and we saw a deer fawn caught in a bush,” he said to NDTV.
Salim Khan Defends Salman
Veteran writer and Salman’s father, Salim Khan, has lately defended his son, ruling out claims that he shot the animal. “Aur woh mujhse jhooth nahi bolega. Usko nahi hain shaukh jaanwar maarne ka. Jaanwaro se mohabbat karta hai woh.”
Salman Khan, meanwhile, continues to face legal issues and threats of security threats, but his family and fans support him in hoping for his safety and justice.
