Ace Indian badminton player PV Sindhu has officially tied the knot with her fiancé, Venkata Datta Sai, in a traditional wedding ceremony held in Udaipur. The union marks a new chapter in the celebrated athlete’s personal life, following a month-long plan set to accommodate Sindhu’s busy training and competition schedule.

The wedding ceremony took place in Udaipur, where Sindhu and Datta Sai were elegantly dressed in traditional Indian attire. Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, shared the first photo from the wedding on his X handle, writing, “Pleased to have attended the wedding ceremony of our Badminton Champion Olympian PV Sindhu with Venkatta Datta Sai in Udaipur last evening and conveyed my wishes & blessings to the couple for their new life ahead.”


Pre-wedding festivities included a vibrant sangeet on December 20, followed by a traditional haldi ceremony, pellikuthuru (a South Indian custom), and mehendi celebrations. These events marked a joyful start to Sindhu and Datta Sai’s journey together. The families, who have long been acquainted, finalized the wedding details swiftly to accommodate Sindhu’s commitments.

Grand Reception in Hyderabad

The newlyweds will host a grand reception in Hyderabad on December 24 to celebrate their union with extended family and friends. It promises to be a grand affair, bringing together loved ones to toast to the happy couple.
