On 22nd April, actor Atul Kulkarni made a powerful statement by visiting South Kashmir’s Pahalgam, just days after a terrorist attack that shook the nation. The victims, primarily tourists and honeymoon couples, were brutally asked about their religion before being gunned down, sending shockwaves across the country.
Kulkarni’s Powerful Message to Terrorists
ANI has referenced Atul Kulkarni in a viral video quoting what he had to say about the horrific incident. According to him, “The incident that took place on 22nd April has made the entire country sad…I read that 90% of bookings have been cancelled here. The message that the terrorists are giving is not to come to Kashmir. This is not going to happen.”
Kulkarni added more, “This is our Kashmir, our country, and we will come here. This is the answer we should give to the ideology of terrorists. I could not give this message staying in Mumbai, so I came here. If I can come, then the rest of the country can also come here…We should come here and not get scared…”

Kulkarni’s visit was made during a time when security issues were on high alert, and most were not eager to venture to Kashmir. There was a considerable drop in bookings in the region after the attack, with tourists not wanting to risk their lives. Kulkarni’s firm stance against terrorism made most of them identify with him as a brave response to the dastardly move by the terrorists.
Public Response to Kulkarni’s Actions
Social media users also rallied behind Kulkarni’s message, recognizing the need to overcome fear and support Kashmir’s tourism industry. One user commented, “In a way, he is right about it, and security will be on high alert right now, but it’s natural for public to be scared of the place for some time until the government shows some action. Empty words and candle vigil is not going to calm scared nerves.” Another user seconded the idea, posting, “I agree, we as citizens of Bharat shouldn’t boycott our own land. We can track terrorists, our agencies today published names of OGW. Kashmir is our land, do not encourage people to boycott 🙏🫡.”

Kulkarni’s tour and words gave a strong message to the terrorists after the Pahalgam terrorist attack — fear will not intimidate people from their own country. The actor’s resolve to stand with Kashmir and Kashmiris is an appeal for solidarity and strength against terrorism.
