Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan To Star In ‘Beef’ Season 2?

Netflix and A24’s anthology series ‘Beef’ is preparing for its eagerly awaited second season, with negotiations underway to secure Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan as its stars. The first season of the series received widespread acclaim and multiple Emmy awards.

Sources close to the production disclosed to Deadline that discussions are ongoing with Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan to lead season 2 of ‘Beef.’ Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny have already been confirmed to join the cast, further enriching the anthology’s upcoming chapter.

While Netflix declined to comment on the negotiations involving Isaac and Mulligan, insiders familiar with the project revealed to Deadline that season 2 will delve into the dynamics of two feuding couples, promising a narrative filled with conflict and intrigue.

Initial reports from Deadline suggested that the roles currently under negotiation by Isaac and Mulligan were initially intended for Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, although those plans did not materialize.

Although the second season of ‘Beef’ has not yet received an official green light, ongoing negotiations with Isaac and Mulligan are generating anticipation among fans eager to witness their potential collaboration in this acclaimed anthology series.

Oscar Isaac recently gained recognition for his role in HBO’s ‘Scenes From a Marriage,’ which earned him an Emmy nomination. He has also completed filming for Julian Schnabel’s ‘Hand of Dante’ alongside Jason Momoa and is currently involved in Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ adaptation, where he plays Doctor Frankenstein.

Meanwhile, Carey Mulligan, a three-time Oscar nominee, has been receiving critical acclaim for her performance in ‘Maestro’ opposite Bradley Cooper, which garnered rave reviews and earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination. She also recently starred in the Netflix film ‘Spaceman’ alongside Adam Sandler.
