Mahir Pandhi Discusses Daylight Attack: No One Came to Help

Actor Mahir Pandhi recently recounted a terrifying incident in Mumbai on his Instagram Stories on July 23. “I was driving from Goregaon to Andheri when two unknown assailants attacked me in broad daylight,” Pandhi said. “They started breaking my car windows. I’m not sure if they wanted to rob me or hurt me. It was bizarre, but life goes on.”

The Incident and Bystanders’ Inaction

Pandhi was shocked that no one assisted him. “It happened at a busy traffic junction in the afternoon. No one helped; people just recorded the incident. We tried to find those recordings to identify the attackers but found nothing useful,” he explained.

Immediate Response and Police Action

Pandhi, who is currently on the TV show Vanshaj, described his actions following the attack. “I drove straight to the police station. They attempted to find CCTV footage, but the cameras weren’t functioning due to the rain. Additionally, new traffic lights were being installed, so there was no security footage,” he said. “I filed a report, and the police questioned nearby shops for more information.”

Pandhi’s Actions During the Attack

Reflecting on the attack, Pandhi said, “I didn’t know what to do at that moment. The instinct is to get out of the car, which is what they wanted. Instead, I stayed inside while they hit the windows with their helmets. Once the traffic cleared, I drove away.” He added, “It wasn’t a case of road rage; it was completely unexpected. If I had stayed longer, they might have broken the glass, and who knows what could have happened.”

This incident highlights the need for public awareness and the importance of immediate assistance during emergencies in busy areas.
