Kesari Chapter 2 Day 1 Box Office: Akshay Kumar Film Opens at ₹15 Crore

Kesari Chapter 2 worldwide box office collection day 1: Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan’s Kesari Chapter 2 period drama opened lukewarm at the box office. The courtroom drama had a poor opening in the morning on Friday but banked on word of mouth during evening and night shows. This along with robust overseas showed it the way to clock a decent, though not great, collection across the globe.

Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Collection

As per Sacnilk, Kesari Chapter 2 collected ₹7.75 crore net ( ₹9.25 crore gross) in India on its first day. The movie also collected ₹5.75 crore abroad, making its total worldwide collection on opening day ₹15 crore. That means it managed to surpass Sunny Deol’s mass actioner Jaat, which opened last week at ₹13.50 crore worldwide. Still, Kesari Chapter 2 lags behind Akshay’s last outing, Sky Force, which made more than ₹20 crore overseas on opening weekend in January.

The encouraging aspect for Kesari Chapter 2 is the fact that collections picked up sharply as the day went by. The Karan Singh Tyagi-directed film did extremely well after getting positive words from the people. This, in turn, ensured that there was positive word of mouth raising the film despite a poor initial. Sacnilk reported that morning shows of the film were 12-13% occupied in India, but by the night shows, it had gone up to nearly 28%. The producers would now wish for an even stronger show on Saturday so that the film could pick up.
