Jungkook’s Birthday: How Fans In South Korea, India And Beyond Are Celebrating

BTS’s youngest member, Jungkook, is marking his 27th birthday on Sunday, September 1. While he is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service, his fans are going all out to celebrate their beloved K-pop star. The preparations for Jungkook’s birthday have been extensive, with decorations, hoardings, banners, and more.

Here’s how Jungkook’s birthday is being celebrated around the world:

In India

Jungkook’s Indian fans have marked the occasion by streaming his music at large gatherings. On August 31, a BTS Jungkook night was organized in Bengaluru by Indian ARMYs. Jungkook’s track “My You” is topping the iTunes chart in India, and he is trending at number 1 on X (formerly Twitter).

In South Korea

South Korea has been transformed into Jungkookland/Kookieland for his birthday. HYBE, Jungkook’s management company, has put up birthday ads in front of their office. Olive Young, a leading health and beauty chain in Korea, has displayed birthday messages on 2,400 LED screens across their outlets nationwide.

In the US and UK

Fans in the United States and the United Kingdom are celebrating with a spectacular light show. A Golden Lights Event will illuminate three major landmarks in green and gold, inspired by Jungkook’s solo song “Golden.” The landmarks include The Capital Wheel in National Harbor (USA), The Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth (UK), and The Morrison Bridge in Portland (USA). Celebrations are also planned at these locations, as reported by Sportskeeda and TheNews.com.

In China

Chinese fans have also shown their support by securing advertising spots in Jungkook’s home country, South Korea. Their displays include locations such as Seoul’s Myeongdong Subway, K Finance Outdoor screen, and the large screen at Incheon Airport.

In Japan

In Japan, fans have demonstrated their admiration by organizing an Osaka-led ad cruise along the Dotobori River and setting up birthday ads in prominent areas.
