Janhvi Kapoor has shared her thoughts on whether she would like to star in a sequel to the 1987 hit film Mr. India. The original movie featured her late mother, Sridevi, and her uncle, Anil Kapoor.
Janhvi expressed her feelings about a potential remake or sequel. She said, “Mr. India is one of the best films in Indian cinema. I’m not sure if it should be remade or touched again. The makers and director will know best what to do with something as iconic as that.”
Janhvi also talked about her relationship with her father, Boney Kapoor, who is a producer. She emphasized that she never pressures him to cast her in his films. “I trust his judgment completely. I never reject his decisions, but I also don’t push him to cast me. I’m his daughter first and an actress second. I want him to make the best decisions for his projects,” she said.
Last year, Boney Kapoor hinted at the possibility of a *Mr. India* sequel when he shared a video on social media, mentioning, “Work in progress for a big screen appearance. #MrIndia #MrIndia2 @AnilKapoor.”
The original *Mr. India* was a superhero film directed by Shekhar Kapur and produced by Boney and Surinder Kapoor. It starred Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, and several other actors, including Amrish Puri and the late Satish Kaushik.
