“Jai Hind, Bharat Mata Ki Jai”: Bollywood Applauds Operation Sindoor

In an impressive showcase of military synergy, India conducted Operation Sindoor at 1:44 am on May 7, the first tri-services attack since the 1971 war. The Army, Navy, and Air Force together attacked nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as a direct retaliatory measure for the dastardly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, when 26 civilians were killed.

Based on official reports, the Indian army attacked only those targets being utilized to organize and coordinate cross-border terrorism. The government sought to highlight that the retaliation was “focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature. In reality, no Pakistani military facilities were targeted. “We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held responsible,” the Indian government asserted.

Bollywood Voices Patriotism

The Indian film world reacted quickly in solidarity. Riteish Deshmukh tweeted on X, “Jai Hind Ki Sena… Bharat Mata Ki Jai!!! #OperationSindoor.”

Actor-director Madhur Bhandarkar shared a similar sentiment, “Our prayers are with our forces. One nation, together we stand. Jai Hind, Vande Mataram.”

Veteran actor Anupam Kher started making tweets with a crisp “Bharat Mata Ki Jai #OperationSindoor.”

Nimrat Kaur asserted solidarity with the following words: “United with our forces. One country. One mission. #JaiHind ???????? #OperationSindoor.”

Actor Paresh Rawal, who has been a long-time national cause supporter, showed solidarity with Prime Minister Narendra Modi by merely posting folded hands emojis, a silent but powerful message. Suniel Shetty posted India’s official press release on the operation, which helped spread the government’s message of strategic restraint.

Pakistan’s Reaction and the Road Ahead

Despite India’s precise targeting, Pakistan responded with cross-border firing and shelling, unfortunately leading to the killing of three civilians in Indian villages along the Line of Control. The sources say this was only Phase 1 of India’s reaction, and additional actions will be contingent upon what happens next with Pakistan.

Operation Sindoor has not only given a clear message to terror outfits but also brought the country together—from its military to its cultural icons—against the threat of terrorism.
