Popular TV actress Dipika Kakar has revealed that she has been diagnosed with Stage 2 liver cancer. In a tearful Instagram post posted on Tuesday (May 28), Dipika spoke about her health issue, the sudden diagnosis, and how her life took a drastic turn after she suffered from stomach pain.
Dipika was first admitted to the hospital with a high fever, and her surgery was rescheduled after complications. Her husband, actor Shoaib Ibrahim, has been keeping fans updated about her condition for the last week. He initially shared that Dipika had a tumour the size of a tennis ball in her liver, which was then confirmed as Stage 2 malignant.
Dipika Kakar’s Instagram Revelation
On her Instagram, Dipika described the emotional path that preceded her diagnosis. She explained how the sudden pain in the stomach led to a series of tests that ultimately revealed the tumour was cancerous.
“As you all are aware last few weeks have been quite difficult for us… walking into the hospital for a pain in the upper area of my stomach… and then finding out its a tennis ball size tumour in the liver and then Finding out that the tumour is Second stage Malignant (Cancerous) … it has been one of the most difficult time we have seen, experienced!”

In spite of the startling news, Dipika was a positive and determined girl to overcome the trouble.
“I am all positive and determined to face this and walk out stronger InshAllah! With my entire family being by my side and All the LOVE and PRAYERS pouring in from all of you I will sail through this too! IshaAllah. Keep me in your prayers! Lots of love. Dipika.”

Shoaib Ibrahim Opens Up in Vlog
Shoaib Ibrahim posted a vlog talking about the challenging time their family is facing. He talked about how their two-year-old son Ruhaan has been handling things.
“Bohut samajhdaari se usne behave kiya (He has behaved in a very mature manner).”
Dipika also sat with Shoaib in the vlog and spoke about how Ruhaan realized that his mum isn’t well.
“Usko pata hai ki mumma theek nahin hai, wo samajh gaya hai. Woh ek-aadh baar din me aake mujhe bolta hai, par phir wo samajh jaata hai ki mumma theek nahin hai. But yes, sab log hain. So, we are staying strong.”

Shoaib First Revealed Tumour Diagnosis
Dipika had revealed the diagnosis in a previous vlog. Shoaib talked about how the pain started when he was out in Chandigarh. He described that initially, they suspected acidity, but when the pain didn’t go away, Dipika got herself tested. A CT scan revealed a large tumour in her liver.
“Our doctor asked us to do a CT scan, and it showed that Dipika has a tumour in the left lobe of her liver. It is bigger, like a tennis ball. It was very shocking for us.”
Dipika’s Recent Career and Personal Life
Dipika Kakar was last seen on Celebrity MasterChef India season one, after five years of absence from television. She left the show voluntarily due to her health issue. Dipika and Shoaib Ibrahim got married in February 2018 in Bhopal.
