Diljit Dosanjh became the first one to make history when he made his Met Gala debut this year and strutted down the steps of metropolitan museum of Art in New York. The actor-singer turned heads in his Maharaja inspired outfit, courtesy Prabal Gurung. Diljit has now been declared the Best dressed celebrity at the largest fashion event in the world in a Vogue poll, ahead of fashionistas such as Zendaya and Rihanna.
Diljit Dosanjh is Met Gala’s Best Dressed
The fashion magazine released its Best Dressed list, as decided by the fans. There was a poll in which the readers had to pick their favorite look out of 307 various ensembles from the red carpet. The Punjabi singer-actor, who showcased Punjabi culture in the form of a Prabal Gurung Sherwani, outshone all the rest to be crowned the Best Dressed.
Diljit made a tribute to Maharaja Bhupinder Singh at Met Gala wearing custom-made ivory sherwani, turban and stunning jewellery which included a heavily ornate necklace. The ensemble also featured a ceremonial sword and cape with the map of Punjab in Gurmukhi script.

Who All made it to the List ?
Coming in at number two on the list was South Korean rapper-singer S Coups who donned a gray Boss suit inspired by Korean hanbok jacket. Coups and Diljit were preceded by Hollywood actress Zendaya who donned a Louis Vuitton suit, singer Teyana Taylor in Ruth E Carter attire and popstar Rihanna in Marc Jacobs outfit.
Following them were, Nicki Minaj in Thom Browne ensemble, Shakira in Prabal Gurang creation and Lewis Hamilton in Grace Wales Bonner. They were succeeded by Lisa in Louis Vuitton, and Sabrina Carpenter in Louis Vuitton. Shah Rukh Khan, who also made his first appearance at this year Met Gala, was unable to make it to the list.
