Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh gave his fans a glimpse into his excitement for the upcoming MET Gala 2025. He posted a humorous video in Punjabi, offering commentary while showing the official invitation he received from the event organizers.

In one of the video clips, Diljit held up the exclusive invitation card and jokingly said, “I have received many wedding cards from relatives but this one is special.” Staying true to his entertaining style, he also read out the names of the hosts and guests listed on the card.
Diljit reveals MET Gala gifts and seeks outfit advice
Diljit also shared the goodies that came along with the invitation. Later, he posted a note asking fans for help choosing his outfit. He wrote, “MET Gala. Ki Paiye Fer” (What should I wear?). Fans also shared their joy on Diljit’s debut in Met Gala.

In another part of the video, Diljit read out a message from the event that reminded guests about strict rules. “The use of cell phones and recording devices inside the museum is strictly prohibited throughout the evening,” the note said.
The invitation also described the event’s theme: “Superfine: Tailoring black style. Monday, the Fifth of May, at half after five o’clock. Dress code: Tailored for you.”
Diljit thanks the organizers
At the end of the video, Diljit thanked the MET Gala team for their thoughtful hospitality. He showed a bottle of champagne sent to him and hilariously said that since no one was around to drink it, “they are just melting away.” He also expressed gratitude to the organizers for taking good care of the guests.
2025 theme celebrates Black fashion and culture
This year’s MET Gala theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” honors Black dandyism and its strong influence on global fashion. Guests are expected to wear outfits with precise tailoring, luxurious fabrics, and designs that celebrate identity, elegance, and tradition. The concept draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion, and showcases how fashion can be both a personal expression and a cultural statement.
Star-studded co-chairs and an iconic host
Fashion legend Anna Wintour, who has led the MET Gala since 1995, is back again this year. She is joined by an impressive lineup of co-chairs for 2025: music producer Pharrell Williams, actor Colman Domingo, F1 star Lewis Hamilton, rapper and fashion icon A$AP Rocky, and LeBron James, who is serving as the honorary co-chair.
