Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, along with her father and badminton legend Prakash Padukone, has officially launched the Padukone School of Badminton (PSB). The announcement came on a special occasion—her father’s 70th birthday.

Deepika Shares Heartfelt Birthday Message

On Tuesday, Deepika posted an adorable photo with her father on Instagram. Along with wishing him a happy birthday, she introduced the new initiative. In the caption, she reflected on how the sport shaped her life and praised her father’s lifelong dedication.

She wrote, “As someone who grew up playing badminton, I’ve experienced firsthand how much this sport can shape one’s life – physically, mentally, and emotionally. Through Padukone School of Badminton (PSB), we hope to bring the joy and discipline of Badminton to people from all walks of life, and build a generation that is healthier, more focused, and inspired by sport.”

Deepika went on to celebrate her father’s passion for badminton, saying, “Pappa, those who know you well, know your passion for this sport. That even at 70, all you do is eat, sleep and breathe Badminton. And we are committed to making your passion a reality: Badminton for All!”

She ended the note by sending birthday wishes to her “pappa”. Her husband Ranveer Singh responded to the touching post with a smiling emoji and a red heart.

75 Coaching Centres to Be Set Up Across India

Padukone School of Badminton will begin by opening 75 grassroots coaching centres in 18 Indian cities. These include Bengaluru, NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Jaipur, Pune, Nashik, Mysuru, Panipat, Dehradun, Udaipur, Coimbatore, Sangli, and Surat.

The initiative plans to expand to 100 centres by the end of the year, and eventually reach 250 centres within three years. The aim is to make quality badminton training accessible to aspiring players across the country.

Deepika’s Upcoming Film with Allu Arjun

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone will soon star alongside Allu Arjun in director Atlee’s upcoming film, tentatively titled AA22xA6. The makers recently released a video welcoming Deepika to the team.
